Excellent Credit

If you have a credit card with a limit over $15,000 and have never been late on a payment or declared bankrupt, it is likely you fall into this category. At this level there are no annual fees and credit limits reach or exceed $20,000. Offers within the excellent credit area include:

Good Credit

  • A credit card with a limit over $5,000 and no missed payments in the last year designate good credit. Offers for those with good credit include:
  • Capital One Platinum with a moderately low fixed interest rate of 12.9% and no annual fee.
  • No Hassle Cash Rewards offering cash rebate with a fixed interest rate of 16.9% and no annual fee.
  • No Hassle Miles Rewards offering travel miles with a fixed interest rate of 16.9% and no annual fee.

Average Credit

If you have a credit card or loan with a balance less than $5,000 and have possibly been late on a payment in the last six months, you likely have average credit. Programs offered in this tier include:

  • Capital One Classic Platinum with a variable 12.9% interest rate and an annual fee of $19.
  • No Hassle Point Rewards where you earn points with the dollars you spend. APR is variable at 14.9% and there is a $29 annual fee.
  • No Hassle Miles Rewards lets you earn travel miles with your spending while paying a variable 14.9% APR and $29 annual fee.
  • Capital One Platinum Max with a 16.9% fixed APR for 3 years with a $19 annual fee.
  • Capital One Standard Platinum with a 17.8% variable interest rate and no annual fee.
Limited Credit

If you’ve only been an authorized user on another account or have your own credit history less than three years, you’re considered within the limited credit category.

Capital One offers many programs for limited credit individuals which include interest rates higher than 14.9% and, in most cases, an annual fee. Credit limits in this tier are less than $3,000 as well.

Programs include:

  • Capital One Classic Platinum for Young Adults with variable APR and $19 annual fee.

  • Capital One Standard Platinum with a 17.8 or 19.3% variable interest rate and no annual fee.
  • Capital One Platinum Max with a 16.9% fixed APR for 3 years with a $19 annual fee.
